About english version
The English version of SAFE-SI website is a shortened version of the Slovenian one. It fully includes only news and press releases , descriptions of main online risks, dictionary of ICT terms and contact information.
SAFE-SI site includes a site map or a guide, which contains following topics about safety on the Internet:
- Introduction to SAFE-SI project, InSafe network and Safer Internet Programme in general;
- Legal regulation of privacy and safety on the Internet;
- Main risks, frauds (viruses, worms, phishing, pharming, spam, spyware, gathering of public data) and tips how to avoid them;
- Technical aspects of protection (antivirus programmes, firewalls, filters, encryption, anonymization, permanently deleted data);
- Cookies and how to shop safely online;
- Introduction to copyright law and arguments against computer piracy;
- Harmful and illegal content online and regulation of such content (violence, bullying, child pornography, hate speech and racism);
- Source criticism;
- Recommendations for parents, teachers, teenagers and children:
- SAFE-SI presents 10 tips for Internet safety for each target group
- main topics and safety tips for each group (how to use chat rooms, about blogging, about Internet addiction, hate-speech websites, netiquette, appropriate websites for kids and many more)
- Potential risks on mobile phones (commercial text messages, expensive mobile ring tones, mobile bullying, lost and stolen mobile phones, illegal content on mobile phones).
On English site there is also a link to the game, which contains questions and answers to help kids protect themselves on the Internet. However, you can only play it in Slovenian language.
In addition to this, the Slovenian site includes comprehensive guide with advices for various aspects, while in English only the index of that is included.
